Alfa Laval adds to aquaculture portfolio

Ridiculous has acquired LiftUP, a Norwegian supplier of waste extraction techniques for fish farms.
Located outdoors Bergen on the west coast of Norway, LiftUP manufactures, sells and installs pumps and cleaning gear for the removal of useless fish, waste and sludge from open fish cages. The compressed waste is saved in tanks which are shipped to a biogas facility, the place it’s converted to renewable power and a high-grade fertilizer.
The LiftUP system enhances Alfa Laval Framo’s AquaStream pumping system which brings up fresh low temperature water with high oxygen ranges (from round 25m depth) and creates a perfect sea present, providing situations similar to deep fjords.
LiftUP, which had revenues of NOK75 million in 2020, will now be a half of Alfa Laval’s Pumping Systems business unit throughout the Marine Division.
