Pattaya discusses “hotel isolation” for Test & Go, Sandbox travellers with Covid-19

After tons of of horror tales of international tourists being required to stay in a quarantine resorts round Thailand after testing constructive for Covid-19, officers in Pattaya mentioned a so-called “hotel isolation” to allow travellers to continue staying at their resort or resort in the occasion that they test optimistic for the virus and have gentle or no symptoms.
The concept is to not pressure travellers into sleeping on a cardboard bed at a field hospital or to switch to a “hospitel,” or quarantine hotel… which, based on a reporter who stayed in a Phuket hospitel, it was more like an “Asian Hotel California” with beer-fuelled, late-night events.
Under both the Test & Go quarantine exemption scheme, travellers must book stays at SHA Extra+ resorts on Day 1 and once more on Day 5 to bear RT-PCR checks. The resorts can be in numerous provinces, as long as they’re approved for the entry programme. The SHA Extra+ certification means a hotel meets requirements set by the Safety and Health Administration and partners with an area hospital to handle constructive Covid-19 cases amongst travellers.
The director of Chon Buri Tourism and Sports, Ampai Sakdanukulchit Sliwinski, led a meeting held at Pattaya City Hall to discuss preparations for the anticipated influx of travellers after Test & Go registrations reopens on February 1. Ampai says that 5% of the hotel rooms at SHA Extra+ hotel might be designated for hotel room isolation, allowing travellers who test positive for Covid-19 to proceed to stay on the lodge rather than checking into a quarantine resort or personal hospital. Genuine says the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration should approve the plan.
Here’s what the tourism director advised the Pattaya News…

“We are seeking one of the simplest ways to help international tourists who arrive in Pattaya and Chon Buri space if their Covid-19 test was positive with gentle or asymptomatic signs. We understand one of many greatest “fears” of tourists is testing constructive and probably being forced into places (hospitals, quarantine centres, etc) that they don’t want to go to, especially being absolutely vaccinated and having delicate signs or much less.
Our objective is that if a traveller is positive for Covid-19 and delicate or asymptomatic they are given each alternative to stay in the hotel room of their selection versus being compelled to hospitals or quarantine centres.”
